Equal Economic Empowerment For All
Nebu is the ancient Egyptian symbol for Gold. Derived from the word Nebil which is where a vast majority of Gold was mined from along the river Nile in ancient times. The image is of a Golden collar with seven spines hanging off the middle. Gold continues to be a marker of international economic wealth despite global crisis
I am passionate about Economic Empowerment and as an expert by experience I am using my knowledge and compassion to help others. Part of my advocacy work has involved contributing to the Domestic Abuse Bill.
I want to empower those in the community who are susceptible through structural change and education.
I am a writer available for guest blogging and sharing my knowledge, expertise and story through the written word. I am keen to write wherever and however I can to spread awareness of the issues around Economic and Financial abuse and document change.
I have my own blog that I release every Tuesday. In my personal blog I document my recovery from domestic and financial abuse. I openly share this journey from oppression to empowerment. I believe in breaking through the taboo and shame around mental health by speaking honestly about my own experience and how injustice is so often the cause. Please join me on the journey and subscribe to the blog for regular updates.
I am currently writing a book called Women Who War which is based on the book the Ancient Chinese War Philosopher Sun Tzu wrote ‘The Art of War’. It is about talks about the mental strategy required to win war. I have taken this concept and applied it to the psychological warfare that is domestic abuse.
I am an experienced speaker. I utilise the twelve years of teaching and presenting, promoting the creative industry and I apply the skills gained to my new work raising awareness of Financial & Economic abuse. I have spoken at events as part of International Women’s Day and I have spoken publicly on the podcast Choose F.I. about my experience. I speak publicly both online and offline.
I am passionate about working to influence and change the systems and structures that already exist to create a fairer and financially safer society for all. This includes the banking/financial system, government structures, the police and legal system so that the laws we have in place actually translate into genuine impact.
Policy and procedures must be reviewed and improved to ensure a more robust system is in place that protects both customers and lenders. I offer Financial Safeguarding practices through 1 to 1 consultation and group staff training. I can help employees spot the signs of financial coercive control through interpersonal strategy and use of data.
